   <subfield code="a">Nghiên cứu này nhằm mục đích điều tra xem việc sử dụng phương pháp tiếp cận dựa trên văn bản để giảng dạy ngôn ngữ dựa trên nhiệm vụ có thể tăng cường khả năng đọc hiểu của người học Tiếng Anh như là môt ngoại ngữ ở độ tuổi thiếu niên hay không. Nó dựa trên cách tiếp cận dựa trên văn bản được đề xuất bởi Tomlinson, để thiết kế các nhiệm vụ giảng dạy môt khóa đọc tiếng Anh cho môt lớp nguyên vẹn gồm 31 học viên thiếu niên (tuôi từ 14-16) trong môt trung tâm ngôn ngữ. Môt lớp khác với 31 người học khác đóng vai trò là nhóm kiểm soát. Nghiên cứu đã so sánh điểm số bài kiểm tra sau thực nghiệm về khả năng đọc hiểu của cả hai nhóm trong hơn 13 tuần thực nghiệm trong đó các học viên đã tham gia việc học với cách tiếp cận dựa trên văn bản để học tập dựa trên nhiệm vụ. Kết quả cho thấy, điểm số kiểm tra khả năng đọc hiểu trong nhóm thực nghiệm cao hơn điểm số kiểm tra khả năng đọc hiểu sau thực nghiệm trong nhóm kiểm soát.</subfield>
