   <subfield code="a">Khả năng hấp phụ đơn phân tử khí CO trên cluster PtₓRuy (x + y ≤ 4) được nghiên cứu bằng lý thuyết DFT, trong đó sử dụng phiếm hàm OHSE1PBE kết hợp với bộ cơ sở 6-31G (d,p) cho nguyên tử C, O và LANL2DZ cho nguyên tử Pt, Ru. Trong quá trình xây dựng và tối ưu hóa cấu trúc cluster không pha tạp Pt, Ru, cũng như cluster pha tạp PtₓRuy đều quan tâm kiểm soát về spin và tần số dao động điều hòa (không âm) để chọn đúng cấu trúc hình học tối ưu ứng với điểm cực tiểu năng lượng. Kết quả tính cho hệ có sự pha tạp từ 1 đến 3 nguyên tử Ru cho thấy sự hình thành cluster pha tạp PtₓRuy (x + y ≤ 4) của phức chứa 1 nguyên tử Ru cho cấu trúc ứng với năng lượng thấp hơn cả, tức bền hơn so với các cấu trúc pha tạp có cùng nguyên tử trong nhóm. Cấu trúc pha tạp 1 nguyên tử Ru bền nhất trong mỗi nhóm được sử dụng cho mục đích khảo sát khả năng hấp phụ CO. Kết quả cho thấy CO có thể hấp thụ trên cả 2 nguyên tử kim loại Pt và Ru và cùng có cơ chế hấp phụ trên nguyên tử carbon. Tuy nhiên, các tính toán về nhiệt hấp phụ cho thấy khả năng hấp phụ trên nguyên tử Ru ưu tiên hơn hấp phụ trên nguyên tử Pt. Kết quả nghiên cứu cũng phù hợp với một số công trình nghiên cứu thực nghiệm và lý thuyết của các tác giả khác thu thập được trong tư liệu. Kết quả thăm dò này tuy còn sơ khai nhưng cũng cho thấy, Ru có thể dùng cho pha tạp vào cluster Pt cho mục đích hạn chế CO hấp phụ trên Pt. Tạo động lực cho nhóm tiếp tục mở rộng hướng nghiên cứu này trong tương lai.</subfield>
