   <subfield code="a">Sự tương tác giữa cluster AuN (N=2-6) với pramipexole (PPX) được nghiên cứu bằng lý thuyết phiếm hàm mật độ DFT với phiếm hàm PBE kết hợp với bộ cơ sở cc-pVTZ cho nguyên tử phi kim và cc-pVTZ-PP cho nguyên tử Au. Kết quả cho thấy các cluster AuN tương tác với PPX thông qua nguyên tử N của vòng thiazole với năng lượng liên kết -25 đến -41 kcal/mol trong pha khí từ và từ -21 đến -38 kcal/mol trong dung môi nước. Với năng lượng tương tác kém âm nhất, Au₆∙PPX có thời gian phục hồi ngắn nhất. Khi sử dụng ánh sáng có tần số ν = 7,5 x 10¹⁴ Hz, thời gian phục hồi của Au₆∙PPX là khoảng 1435,37 giây (pha khí) đến 7,61 giây (nước) tại 298 K. Trong các cluster được khảo sát, chỉ Au6 là có năng lượng vùng cấm giảm do gắn kết với PPX. So với Au₆ tự do, năng lượng vùng cấm của Au₆∙PPX giảm khoảng 8% trong pha khí và 11% trong nước. Sự thay đổi này có thể được chuyển hóa thành tín hiệu điện giúp phát hiện chọn lọc PPX. Trong môi trường acid, sự tương tác giữa các cluster AuN và PPX yếu hơn, dẫn đến thuốc dễ dàng được phóng thích hơn trong môi trường trung tính. Tương tác giữa PPX và cluster vàng là quá trình thuận nghịch và cơ chế giải phóng PPX cũng đã được khảo sát. Theo đó, PPX dễ dàng tách khỏi bề mặt vàng do sự thay đổi nhỏ của pH trong tế bào khối u hoặc sự hiện diện của dư lượng cysteine trong các protein.</subfield>
