   <subfield code="a">Sản xuất nông nghiệp đóng góp một phần vào phát thải khí nhà kính, trong đó nổi bật là CH₄ và N₂O là hai loại khí quan trọng đóng góp 50,5% và 60% nguồn gây hiệu ứng nhà kính đối với nguồn phát sinh khí nông nghiệp. Khả làm giảm phát thải 2 loại khí của than sinh học đã được chứng minh trong nhiều nghiên cứu trước đó ở các nước và các vùng lân cận dẫn đến sự phát triển của nghiên cứu hiện tại. Thí nghiệm được thực hiện nhằm dùng làm cơ sở khoa học cho việc đề xuất sử dụng mô hình bổ sung than sinh học từ trấu và tràm vào ruộng lúa trong điều kiện quản lý nước theo phương pháp truyền thống làm giảm phát thải khí CH₄, N₂O và tăng năng suất lúa. Thí nghiệm được bố trí theo kiểu khối hoàn toàn ngẫu nhiên với 5 nghiệm thức và 3 lần lặp lại: 1 nghiệm thức đối chứng không bổ sung than và 4 nghiệm thức bổ sung than bao gồm 2 loại than trầu và than tràm cùng với 2 tỷ lệ than 0,5% tương đương 5 tấn /ha, 1% tương đương 10 tấn/ha, thí nghiệm được thực hiện ngoài đồng vụ Xuân hè năm 2019 tại phường Thới An Đông, quận Bình Thủy, thành phố Cần Thơ. Kết quả thí nghiệm cho thấy bổ sung than sau 74 NSS (ngày sau sạ) đã làm giảm phát thải, than trấu 0,5% giảm 14,5% CH₄, 1% giảm 17,9% CH₄; than tràm 0,5% giảm 8,8% CH₄, 1% giảm 14% CH₄ so với đối chứng không bổ sung than; Lượng N₂O giảm 15,5-23,1% ở than trấu, 7,4-26,7% ở than tràm. Khi quy đổi ra lượng CO₂eq than trấu cho khả năng giảm phát thải vượt trội hơn than tràm, tối ưu trong thí nghiệm ở mức 1% bổ sung than đã làm giảm 17,6% so với đối chứng không bổ sung than. Việc bổ sung than giúp gia tăng lượng hữu cơ trong đất, duy trì và giảm rửa trôi dinh dưỡng trong đất sau các đợt bón phân. Bên cạnh đó, bón phân còn có xu thế gia tăng thành phần năng suất, về lâu dài có thể cải thiện và nâng cao năng suất. Thí nghiệm cần được tiến hành dài hạn hơn để theo dõi hiệu quả của việc bổ sung than vào đất, cũng như theo dõi thêm nhiều chỉ tiêu hơn nữa để làm rõ cơ chế giảm phát thải CH₄, N₂O.</subfield>
