   <subfield code="a">Mangan là một nguyên tố hóa học khá phổ biến, chỉ đứng hàng thứ 3 sau sắt và titan. Mangan và các hợp chất của nó đã và đang được sử dụng rộng rãi trong nhiều lĩnh vực. Trong tự nhiên, Mangan dioxit có trong ba lọai khoáng vật: pyrolusit, ramsdellit, akhtenskit. Ở Việt Nam, chỉ riêng nguồng khoáng pyrolusit có đến hàng triệu tấn tập trung ở Cao Bằng, Nghệ an. Mangan dioxit tự nhiên thường lẫn rất nhiều tạp chất và khó có được cấu trúc tinh thể hòan hảo. Với mục tiêu xây dựng một quy trình  thích hợp điều chế mangan dioxit  có hoạt tính oxi hóa hoặc xúc tác oxi hóa tốt tác giả đã thực hiện đề tài này nhằm sử dụng có hiệu quả hơn nguồn nguyên liệu pyrolusit trong nước để chế tạo các lọai vật liệu MnO2 phục vụ sản xuất và đời sống.</subfield>
