| Achoimre: | This study investigated into the stylistic features of repetition in
English and Vietnamese folk songs. With the analysis of 200 folk songs
including 400 samples of typical repetition along with the statistic
information, this study will provide an in-depth analysis of linguistic features
of repetition in English Folk Songs and Vietnamese Folk Songs. Then we will
compare the similarities and differences of linguistic features of repetition in
folk songs of two nations. We found that English and Vietnamese share a lot
of entities in the mappings concerning the use of repetition by composers.
Basing on the findings and results of this study, some implications for the
teaching and learning of English, translation work as well as composing songs
will also be suggested. Hopefully, the result of the study can be somewhat
beneficial for the teaching and learning of English. This study may also be
helpful for the readers of English. |
