The application of technological learning tools as supportive tools in the field of education has been said to be potential among learners. In particular, up-to-date technology-enabled teaching tools have increased and developed in a wide range of kinds. One of these is the use of the digital flashcard website Quizlet, which offers abundant resources for learning vocabulary. This research aims to examine the perceptions of students towards using Quizlet as a tool to learn vocabulary. The research involved a sample of 64 first-year UFLs students from different faculties including the Faculty of English Language Teacher Education and the Department of English. Mixed-method design was used to satisfy the purposes of the study. The questionnaire was modified from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework and the semi-structured interview served as a data collection instrument. The results of the investigation indicate first-year English-majored students’ perceptions of the use of Quizlet towards vocabulary learning were generally positive. Most participants perceive Quizlet as a potential learning tool for vocabulary enrichment. Furthermore, a large number of suggestions for the improvements of the vocabulary learning process via Quizlet were recommended including various implications for educational teachers and students. However, the research also revealed some limitations of Quizlet such as lack of concentration, unreliable learning materials, time waste, and so on. |
