| Gaia: | The explosion of technology has brought tremendous transformations in all areas. The pedagogies of teaching in general and English teaching in particular are rapidly changing thanks to the advancement of information and communication technology (ICT). It is essential for teacher to use ICT in the teaching and learning process in order to help students to achieve high quality of English subject. The current paper aimed at investigating how EFL pre-service teachers perceive the integration of ICT in EFL classrooms during teaching practicum, how ICT was implemented, what barriers they encountered as well as what suggestions should be proposed to improve the use of ICT in teaching and learning. The participants included 40 EFL pre-service teachers at the University of Danang – University of Foreign Language Studies. A mixed-method design was employed to achieve the aim of the study. The questionnaires developed partly based on the Technology Acceptance Model to explore the perceptions, and semi-structure interviews were also used as data collection instruments. Results obtained from both the quantitative and qualitative data indicated that the perceptions of EFL pre-service teachers of the use of ICT in EFL classrooms during teaching practicum were generally positive. The prospective teachers frequently integrated ICT into their classrooms during teaching practicum. However, they faced some barriers that impeded them from adopting ICT successfully in the classroom. Accordingly, several suggestions were put forward for the improvement of ICT integration in the teaching and learning process. |
