Summary:This study reports an investigation into linguistic features of car slogans in English. It attempts to find out the lexical features, syntactic features and stylistic devices as well as some outstanding rhetorical devices in these slogans. The research data are collected from English online newspapers. The research was conducted based on the combination of a variety of methods, namely qualitative, quantitative and descriptive analysis. More than 200 samples of car slogans in English were collected from the internet for recent years. The findings of the study showed that the similarities and differences in how to design car slogans. Moreover, there were a number of noticeable differences that we must research clearly and carefully. It is hoped that the results of this study will serve as an access to a profound understanding of English and Vietnamese about car slogans. The study will help Vietnamese learners of English to improve their writing skills about slogans.
