Moreover, both qualitative and quantitative analysis is made use of investigation 554 samples in English and Vietnamese from various linguistic books, dictionaries, short stories, novels and newspapers. The findings show that idioms containing verbs of possession have remarkable syntactic and semantic features and that there are some similarities and differences between the two languages. We also dealt with the implications for teaching and learning of idioms as well as for further study.
