| Zusammenfassung: | This thesis mainly aims at setting off stylistic features of some commonly used stylistic devices, their similarities, differences and their frequencies of occurrence in English and Vietnamese poems.
The data of the study are collected from English and Vietnamese poems, and then described and contrastively analyzed on stylistic aspects under qualitative and quantitative approaches to investigate more precise points on stylistic devices in poetry language.
On the basis of a contrastive analysis, the thesis tries to find out some commonly used stylistic devices in English and Vietnamese poems in terms of phonetic, syntactic and semantic features. With an eye to partly contributing to better teaching and learning English as a foreign language, specifically to better the awareness of learners in application of poetry, some suggested ideas are also included. |
