Achoimre:The purpose of this graduation paper is to make a detailed investigation into linguistic features of compound nouns in English and Vietnamese. This study is carried out with a combination of both descriptive and comparative methods. Over 500 samples are extracted from different online economic newspapers. Firstly, we describe the morphological, syntactic and semantic features of compound nouns in English and Vietnamese newspapers. Through the contrastive analysis, we identified the similarities and differences of compound nouns between the two languages. Finally, this study takes a closer look at implications for teaching and learning.
