| Summary: | The research aims at finding out symbolic cardinal numbers from one to ten in English and Vietnamese in terms of semantic and syntactic features in order to decode symbolic cardinal numbers in both languages according to the related linguistic domains for the purpose of implication in teaching and learning English. The data for the study are collected from prestigious dictionaries, books of idioms related to symbolic cardinal numbers in English and Vietnamese. Furthermore, online materials associated with symbolic cardinal numbers are also selected as data in our research. The main methods applied for the research are contrastive analysis, qualitative and quantitative ones as well. |
