However, the current status of the State’s role in the land sector in Vietnam has many limitations, leading to the need to continue improving and meeting development requirements set in the new context. The article focuses on analysing and evaluating the current status of law and implementation of the State’s role in the land sector in Vietnam today in aspects such as: (i) the role of developmental orientation and regulation for the land use rights market; (ii) the role of supporting and encouraging the development of the land use rights market; (iii) the role of ensuring social security in the land sector; (iv) the role of adjusting, preventing and remedying shortcomings in the land use rights market.
