New technologies and recent findings in Spinal Deformity can provide useful tools to conceive new diagnostic procedures, new approaches to treatment - both conservative and surgical - and an increasing attention in a quantitative pathology monitoring and follow up. For this purpose the basic understanding of biomechanical, orthopaedical as well as neuromotor postural control aspects must be combined with advanced technology in computer vision, pattern recognition, image processing, optoelectronics, high level mathematics, mechanics and physics.
