Streszczenie:This study is an attempt to deal with finding and classifying types of lexical cohesion in reading passages of Solutions Intermediate by Tim Faulla and Paul A Davis currently used for English majored students grade10 of Bac Quang Nam High School for Gifted Students. The data of the study are collected from reading passages of the reliable course book Solutions Intermediate. With the data collected, we have explored the involvement of lexical cohesion, namely reiteration and collocation and their subtypes. The data were described and analyzed in lexical aspects under qualitative and quantitative approaches. Based on the statistics, it was discovered that Solutions Intermediate exploited all types of lexical cohesion matching with those investigated by Halliday and Hasan (1976); namely, reiteration 30.3% and collocation 69.7%. The findings of the study showed the frequency and variety of the occurrence of lexical cohesion in reading passages of Solutions Intermediate, which laid the foundation of implications for teaching and learning reading skills in particular and English as a foreign language in general.
