Achoimre:This document was prepared at the sixty-sixth meeting of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA), held in Rome, Italy, from February 20 to 28, 2006. Two substances were evaluated for the first time for the animal species concerned (colitis and erythromycin) and four substances were reassessed (flumequien, melengestrol acetate, ractopamine hydrochloride and triclabendazole). The residue monographs provide information on chemical identity and properties of the compounds, pharmacokinetics and metabolism residue depletion studies and analytical methods validated and used for the detection and quantifications of the compounds. This publication and other documents produced by JECFA contain information that is useful to those who work with or are involved in recommending or controlling maximum sales residues limits for veterinary drugs in foods.
