| Resumo: | This is the essential handbook from the International Mycological Institute for all who work with or are interested in fungi (including lichens and yeasts). This new edition, with over 19,500 entries, has been prepared by significantly revising the information included in the seventh edition. It provides the most complete listing of generic names of fungi available. For each, the authority (complying with the recently published standard forms for names of authors), the date of publication, status, systematic position, number of accepted species, distribution and references to key publications are given. Diagnoses of families, orders and higher categories are included for most groups. In addition, there are explanations of terms used in mycology, bibliographic notes, information on well-known metabolites and mycotoxins and short accounts of almost all pure and applied aspects of the subject always including citations of important literature. |
