Description
Résumé:Provides insight relating to medical records, hospital protocol, medical-surgical techniques, and trends that can often challenge the therapist working in the acute care setting. Designed for physical therapy students and clinicians unfamiliar with acute care, the handbook is intended to aid in the interpretation and understanding of the medical-surgical aspects of acute care. Each chapter discusses a major body system, including a review of basic structure and function; an overview of the medical-surgical workup of an adult patient; a review of pathophysiology; pharmacology; and guidelines for physical therapy intervention.
