Description
Summary:The Three Cities Sanitation Project for Vietnam aims to a) sustain improvements to public health, and b) increase economic development by reducing the incidence of flooding, upgrading the urban environment, and developing more efficient and financially sustainable sanitation and drainage companies in Da Nang, Haiphong, and Quang Ninh Province. The project complements an ongoing IDA (International Development Association)-assisted water supply project approved in 1997 covering the same cities (report number 16299). The project comprises similar sub-projects in the areas mentioned and includes components covering sewerage and sewage treatment, drainage, institutional development and construction management, and revolving funds for household sanitation facilities. There are also solid waste components in Da Nang and Quang Ninh
