Tóm tắt: | This is the first comprehensive report on Peking's offshore oil and gas program. Harrison shows why a growing Chinese offshore capability could foreshadow significant clashes with neighboring countries and thus affect the future of Taiwan and South Korea, the Sino-Japanese-Soviet triangle, and Sino-Vietnamese and Sino-Filipino relations. In projecting long-term production capabilities, the author is more bullish than recent CIA studies, but he continues to stress that Peking is unlikely to have large surpluses for export to other countries, with the notable exception of Japan. |
