It is a series of essays (best read together, in my view) on the various uses (and abuses) of logic in the sciences and philosophy. Though addressed, by and large, to a readership at least somewhat familiar with major trends in modern philosophy, PtL is more than accessible to an interested (and persistent) novice. It is an expository gem, a model of lucid argumentation and writing
