Description
Summary:Fundamental's of Emergency Care has a complaint oriented, assessment based approach to the education of the EMT. It is designed to be taught using a problem-based learning approach. Problem based learning gives the EMT student an opportunity to learn the material in a more practical manner and one that is more natural to the adult learner. The most outstanding feature of Fundamental's of Emergency Care will be its emphasis on real life situations. The integration of the concepts of the emergency medicine into "real" life EMS on the streets, through case studies, will support the student as they try to apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom. Fundamental's of Emergency Care is intended to make book smart students into street smart EMTs through the use of problem-solving and critical thinking. All aspects of the Federal DOT 1994 EMT-Basic Curriculum are covered.
