الملخص:This thesis deals with children’s songs in English and Vietnamese, especially with lexicon, syntax and semantics. It is aimed to find out the similarities, differences in children’s songs in the two languages in terms of three aspects mentioned. The data of the study were collected from mass media such as websites of children’s songs, song books and magazines in English and Vietnamese. This study is carried out in the criteria of quality and quantity through the analysis of two hundred children’s songs in English and Vietnamese. Similarities and differences of lexicon, syntax and semantics between two languages in children’s songs were also pointed out to lead to the conclusion and implications at the end of the thesis. There were some suggestions for further researches on different fields of songs in English and Vietnamese. Hopefully, this research is useful to those who are teaching and studying English as well as Vietnamese children’s songs.
