总结:This paper deals with the grammatical and lexical features of English modality. In essence, modality and modal verbs are difficult to understand because the form of modals does not follow the conventional rules of grammar, and there are so many meanings of modals that students often get confused about which modal to use. The study aims to examine English modality expressed in terms of grammaticalization and localizationand and to suggest some measures of teaching and learning of multi-word verbs of English in the context of Vietnam. Thus, our main objective, in this study, is to provide those engaged in English Language teaching and learning in Vietnam with the suitable means for pre-empting and solving the problems and difficulties of teaching and learning English modality. The following general and interrelated questions have been formulated on the basis of the hypotheses of this study: - What are grammaticalization and lexicalization denoting modality in English and Vietnamese? - What are the problems/difficulties facing the teaching/learning of English modality in the context of Vietnam? - What are common errors made that the Vietnamese students of English at Danang schools may make and how should they be on guard against these?
