Achoimre:This paper investigates the translation of economic metaphors from English into Vietamese as manifested in published translated works, either from printed publictions or from the Internet. The purpose is to find out ways or procedures most commonly used by translators when translating metaphors related to economy and economics. First of all, by taking and analyzing various samples, this paper aims at finding out crucial factors influencing the translating procedures. The main study is then focused on discovering the procedures of Peter Newmark as manifested in English-Vietnamese translation of economic metaphors and arranged in order of frequency. Finally, the implications for the teaching and learning of economic metaphors, translation as well as for further study are put forward.
