For this reason, this thesis aims to investigate into English and Vietnamese proverbs denoting friendship in an attempt to find out the similarities and differences between the two languages in terms of syntax and semantics by means of contrastive analysis with qualitative and quantitative approaches. All the data were collected from dictionaries, books and websites on the internet.
