Achoimre:The main aim of the research is to inform and educate thereaders about eco-tourism, its significance and related developments.However, there might be some differences in emphasis and languageto cater to the specific audiences of each language. In practice,ecotourism has often failed to deliver the expected benefits toindigenous communities due to a combination of factors, includingshortages in the endowments of human, financial and social capitalwithin the community, lack of mechanisms for a fair distribution ofthe economic benefits of ecotourism, and land insecurity. The overallaim of the current study involves obtaining the understanding ofdiscourse features of English and Vietnamese news items on ecotourism and similarities and differences between them.
