There are a huge number of previous studies conducted to evaluate the impact of applying ER in language learning in EFL class in universities. However, the studies about high school are still scarce. Inspired by current issues in reading status among Vietnamese high school students, the study aims to explore students’ perception and practice of ER in EFL context at Le Quy Don high school for the gifted. It further explores how teachers organize ER in classroom and highlights some challenges faced in the implementation of ER activities. Quantitative method has been used to conduct this research. This paper is concluded with some suggestions to implement ER in Le Quy Don high school for the gifted to help the learners improve their second language learning.
