Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:Purpose: This study aims to identify barriers perceived by manufacturers and to propose potential solutions to foster green innovation in Vietnam. The results help to understand the circumstances of green innovation in a developing country. Design: A theoretical framework and the inductive case research method are used to analyse five case studies of green innovation in Vietnam. The case studies include companies that operate in the waste management, electrical cable, furniture, organic agriculture, and food technology industries. In-depth interviews were conducted to examine how companies in the less developed institutional context overcome barriers to green innovation. Findings: Results suggest that regulatory, institutional barriers, technological innovation capability, and green core capability are significant barriers to green innovation by manufacturing companies in Vietnam. The potential solutions to overcome these barriers are then identified. Originality of the paper: Through the analysis, the study will help elucidate the constraints to green innovation for manufacturing companies in developing countries. The result is a framework for barrier analysis and implications for potential measures to overcome the barriers.
