Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:In this study, the chemical composition of essential oils extracted from the leaves of Gaultheria sleumeri Smitinand & P.H.(Benth.) in Vietnam was analyzed, and their biological activities were evaluated. The essential oils were obtained through hydro-distillation of G. sleumeri leaves and subsequently analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results revealed that the essential oil primarily consisted of two constituents: methyl salicylate (99.92%) and eugenol (0.08%). To assess the antimicrobial activity of the essential oil, the agar well diffusion method was employed. The results demonstrated that the essential oil exhibited significant activity against two bacterial strains comprising Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, and a pathogenic yeast (Candida albicans) at the different concentrations of essential oils. This study provided valuable insights into the chemical composition and biological activities of essential oils derived from G. sleumeri leaves in Vietnam.
