RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WOMEN AND PLANTS IN THE TRADITIONAL VIETNAMESE FOLK - SONGS
description The purpose of the article is to affirm the uniqueness of content, and art of folk songs about women when reflecting on the relationship between ecology and feminism, opening up an approach to the genre in complex view. The article has profound implications for future research approaching folk literary genres from an ecofeminism perspective. Applying some methods such as interdisciplinary approach to literature and culture, comparison, statistics, system and analysis and synthesis operations, this article contributes to deepening and discovering the unique features of Vietnamese folk songs from an eco-feminism perspective and refers to semiotics. The article proceeds Vietnamese folk songs from prestigious collection works. The article has pointed out the relationship between plants and women in folk songs, specifically, the conscious selection of plants as artistic images: plants symbolize a woman’s quality, soul, and life; Plants represent feminine consciousness. The article shows women and feminine discourse through vividly expressed images of plants. The unique relationship between plants and women is the source of humanistic thought for future literature, a model of symbiotic harmony between humans and nature.
