Tóm tắt: | The study is based on an approach of Kaplinsky and Morris (2001). The probability sampling method was
used to direct interviews with 200 coffee farmers in Lam Dong province. Besides, the paper conducted field
observation and key informant interviews to describe several farming practices and recheck the survey. This study analyzes farmers' production and consumption situations in the Arabica coffee value chain in Lam Dong province. The results highlight the fact that small-scale Arabica coffee farmers, on average, are only 1,2 hectares. Coffee growers are facing difficulties with pests, diseases, low production and prices. The average revenue/ha/year is around 105 million, minus production costs of 56,5 million, and the household coffee farm receives approximately 48,4 million. Most coffee is sold to local collectors and processing companies was 92,5% and 7,5%, respectively. Coffee growers can sell coffee cherries right on their farms or transport their coffee to the collectors |
