Five major discrepancies between the S. polyrhiza cytogenetic map (clone 7498) and BioNano map (clone 9509) due to mis-assemblies or incompleteness in former studies were resolved. No clone-specific chromosome rearrangement was detected between seven tested S. polyrhiza clones after FISH with 106 BACs. Chromosome homeology and rearrangements between S. intermedia (2n = 36) and S. polyrhiza (2n = 40) were studied and revealed complex rearrangements involving 10 chromosome pairs of S. polyrhiza and 8 of S. intermedia.
