Since open-source software is written using computer programming languages we describe the commonly used open-source programming languages, including C/C++, FORTRAN, Ada, Java, Python, Tcl/Tk, Perl, Common Lisp, Scheme, Erlang, Smalltalk, Ruby, Scala, X10, and Lua in this chapter.
