Model-driven development, as reflected in the SQL Server Modeling .NET framework, supports the design and creation of more dynamic applications where the model can change over time. This form of agile development, with much shorter release cycles, is ideal for businesses operating in rapidly changing technological, regulatory, and competitive environments: The list covers a broad gamut of ITintensive enterprises. Examples might include financial services, insurance, telephony, and high-tech manufacturing. Shorter release cycles enabled by model-driven development can significantly enhance the competitiveness and agility of these kinds of enterprises. Another advantage of SQL Server Modeling is that it enables stakeholders not trained as programmers to create a business or process model using a modeling tool (called Quadrant), and immediately generate executable code based on their model.
