Tóm tắt: | This book is about PEAR. It’s not about the fruit, although it’s pronounced the same, so you
don’t have to say “P-E-A-R” like you would spell out “C-A-K-E” or “P-I-E” in front of a small
child with whom you don’t intend on sharing. Like anything else in computer languages and
computers, PEAR is an acronym that stands for something, which in this case is “PHP Extension
and Application Repository.”
PEAR is a collection of packages written in PHP. Each package has specific functionality
that can be incorporated into your existing code, a benefit that makes it much less time consuming
to build a site or application from scratch. If you’ve done web application development in other
languages, such as ASP.NET or Perl CGI, think of PEAR packages as being similar to “application
blocks” or Perl modules.ed |
