Furthermore, we will tell you a little bit about what this book is about and how we envision you will use it to get the most benefit from it. In 2004, we heard about Software Factories: Assembling Applications with Patterns, Models, Frameworks, and Tools, written by Jack Greenfield and Keith Short; we immediately thought that the Software Factories paradigm, as proposed, could have great potential within Siemens, where we already had many product lines. We met with Jack many times and discussed the tools and techniques that were proposed to complement the theory described in that book. Based on these discussions, we decided to develop a prototype of a Software Factory to experience the pros and cons first hand. Trying to translate the theory from Jack’s and Keith’s book into real implementation, we realized that there exists a need for a practical guide about how to develop Software Factories, and so the idea of Practical Software Factories in .NET was born. This led us to propose our book idea to Tony Davis, at the time an editor at Apress, who thought it was a great idea, thus the beginning of the book you have before you. 2012-08-30T06:54:17Z 2012-08-30T06:54:17Z 2006 Book 1-59059-665-X 978-1-59059-665-4 http://scholar.dlu.edu.vn/thuvienso/handle/DLU123456789/31635 en application/pdf Apress
