Description
Summary:In working with SharePoint and with BI, we frequently found that there was no single source of information that could address the needs of both DBAs and SharePoint administrators and developers. In fairness, given the pace of the technology we deal with, it’s very difficult to find that one superhero who knows it all. But, in order to deliver solutions with these modern platforms, we sort of do need to know it all. We need to know core BI concepts as well as core SharePoint BI concepts. SharePoint is becoming the de facto choice for delivery of BI products for Microsoft. With SharePoint 2010, Microsoft introduced Visio Services, Business Connectivity Services, Reporting Services, a much-revamped Excel Services, and to top the cake, a completely revamped PerformancePoint Services. Even if, you are an experienced .NET developer, it is difficult to find a single book that teaches you enough of all of these technologies, and enough BI concepts, to get you on the way to being productive and effective in a project that uses these concepts and technologies.
