Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:The aim of this book is to explain the many different factors which lead to mastitis and poor milk quality. If the farmer, vet or herdsman appreciates the way in which mastitis occurs, then he will be in a much better position to understand and implement the control measures required. Mastitis can never be eradicated. This is because environmental infections such as Escherichia coli (E. coli) will always be present. It is also highly unlikely that a single all-embracing vaccine will ever be found to suppress the multiplicity of types of infection involved. Control must therefore be based on sound management, and this originates best from a thorough understanding of the principles of the disease involved. The primary objective of this book is to achieve a thorough understanding of mastitis. If this results in a reduction in the incidence of infection, and in so doing benefits both the economics of dairy farming and the welfare of the cow, then the authors will be well pleased.
