Tóm tắt: | The idea of preparing another handbook in the general area of
international economics seemed at first an unnecessary venture. After
all, it was only about seven yean ago that the authoritative and
comprehensive Handbook o f International Economics was edited by
Ronald W. Jones and Peter B. Kenen and published by North-Holland
(1985). This handbook was and is put to good use by many teachers in
both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in international economics
throughout the world. It also provides an authoritative state of
the art for researchers in the field of international economics. Although
many collections of papers have been published subsequently, some
teachers and PhD students still express a need for a more up-to-date
handbook as the field has expanded rapidly during the last seven years.
Rapid advances in theory and applied work have taken place in the
areas both of international trade and of international monetary
economics. In the general area of international trade a lot of research
has been completed on increasing returns, imperfect competition and
intra-industry trade. |
