Tóm tắt:CDIO framework was first introduced by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and other Swedish universities in the 1990s. It is the framework with the main goals to improve teaching and learning activities for engineering programs. The framework aims to provide fresh graduates with good personal, interpersonal and C-D-I-O skills through learning and dealing with real-world problems in schools. The Faculty of Information Technology (FIT), University of Science, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh city, is one of the two schools which were selected to run a pilot program of CDIO adoption. The program aims to improve the teaching and learning activities at the school. After more than a year of preparation, the school has started to apply the CDIO framework into a couple of courses for first year students. Feedback from lecturers and students has shown positive effects of the CDIO adoption at the school. The paper describes some new experiences from both lecturers and students when applying CDIO framework into the teaching and learning activities for first year students. The paper also describes some techniques and activities which have been applied to the first year courses at FIT. In addition, the paper also discusses problems and difficulties that FIT is facing when applying CDIO into the school.
