Tóm tắt:Advances in sensor technology and deployment strategies are revolutionizing the way that geospatial information is collected and analyzed. The advent of nanotechnology makes it feasible to deploy low cost, low power devices with on-board sensing and wireless communications capabilities. As a result of this new sensor deployment reality, the fields of GIS and remote sensing face multiple research challenges related to real-time geosensor data collection, management, analysis, and delivery. GeoSensor Networks addresses these issues in a collection of papers submitted by experts in such diverse research domains as spatial databases, spatial information modeling, robotics, digital image analysis, mobile computing, operating systems, database management, and environmental applications. Providing a cross-disciplinary forum that will foster collaboration and development, this volume has four sections, each of which represents a major aspect of geosensor networks: databases, image processing, computer networks, and applications. Combined, these papers deliver an excellent snapshot of the state of the art in these fields, and offer a thoughtful and balanced evaluation of the potential and emerging challenges of successfully developing and deploying these networks.
