Tóm tắt:Although there are many studies about employing group work to foster speaking skill, collaborative group reading and learn in vocabulary and grammar. Few studies have investigated the effect of group work on students’ oral performance, especially in the Tra Vinh University in Vietnam. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to discuss the effects and advantages of group work and see to what extent it affects students’ oral performance. Furthermore, it can provide the teachers with a better understanding of the schools’ current situation and explore the benefits, problems and students’ attitude towards the teaching techniques. Finally, teachers of English at school can use the research findings as a kind of references.
