Description
Résumé:The aims of this research are to check the ability in recognizing and pronouncing fricative sounds of 156 sophomores and juniors of the English program in the research context. It focuses on the learners’ cognition and production of the fricative sounds with two main issues. Firstly, the study aims at finding out the most types of fricative sounds that students may not recognize and produce. Secondly, the focus will be on the analysis of different perceptions of teachers and learners about this matter. After analyzing the data, the results and findings may help learners distinguish the sounds and find out some methods or ways to help them to pronounce more accurately and improve their communication effectively.
