| Tóm tắt: | It is obvious that proverbs make up a large part in almost every
language. Proverbs denoting education is one of the most popular types of
proverbs that people pay much attention to and use frequently. However,
understanding the meaning of proverbs in general and proverbs denoting
education in particular is not easy to the second language learners. An
investigation into syntactic and semantic features of English and Vietnamese
proverbs denoting education, therefore, is carried out to find out the
similarities and differences between them in the terms of syntax and
semantics. In this study, data is collected from books, dictionaries and
websites on the Internet. The study also suggests some implications for
teaching and learning English proverbs denoting education to Vietnamese
learners. |
