children (of which 3772 girls and 3599
boys) at aged of 37 to 72 month sat 10
provinces unveiled the following
conclusions:
1. The growth of anthropometric
indicators of 37-72 month children has
got the normal trend as usual. There was
no significant disparity in the growth
rate of weight and usual. There was no
significant disparity in the growth rate of
weight and height in children at the
same age range between the 2 study
periods (1980-1095 and 1991-1993).
2. The malnutrition rate of pre-school
children are lowed slightly, but
problemly still located at a high level,
especially in the rural and
mountainousareas. There was also a very
high prevalence o children with chronic
malnutrition in the northern rural areas.
3. The common diseases of children in
creches are resoiratory inection, Teeth
decayed (in particular for children in the
south).
4. The dietary intake of children was still
lower than nutrition requirement)
recommended by WHO). There was an
imbalance among energy provision food.
80% of energy intake come from rice
source, In contrary lipid energy was very
low, that affected the absorption of fat
soluted vitamins such as vitamins A, D,
and E.
There was a closely relationship between
dietary intake with the health, nutrition
status and the physical growth of pre-school
