There was no significant disparity in the growth rate of weight and height in children at the same age range between the 2 study periods (1980-1095 and 1991-1993). 2. The malnutrition rate of pre-school children are lowed slightly, but problemly still located at a high level, especially in the rural and mountainousareas. There was also a very high prevalence o children with chronic malnutrition in the northern rural areas. 3. The common diseases of children in creches are resoiratory inection, Teeth decayed (in particular for children in the south). 4. The dietary intake of children was still lower than nutrition requirement) recommended by WHO). There was an imbalance among energy provision food. 80% of energy intake come from rice source, In contrary lipid energy was very low, that affected the absorption of fat soluted vitamins such as vitamins A, D, and E.
