Clint Biotechnology Agricultural This book examines public perception, public deliberation and media presentation of agricultural biotechnology and genetically modified (GM) foods. Evenson and Santaniello (2004) provided an outlook on this topic that was primarily economic and focused on consumer behaviour; our book looks at public opinion data, communication theory and international examples to provide a complementary overview of how the public sees this controversial topic. The book is derived from the authors’ experience with perceptions of agricultural biotechnology at both national and international levels. Thus, one of the main foci of the book is to be grounded in actual case studies. For this, we have called on experts in communicating about GM and on experts in actually bringing GM foods to market, often against great resistance. But we also saw a need for a book that would summarize public opinion. Most studies of agricultural biotechnology have not provided comparative examples of public opinion. Normally, it is simply assumed that there is support in the US versus opposition in Europe. This dichotomy tends to ignore the developing world, where there are often many exciting examples of real world field-testing and implementation of GM food. 2014-03-05T08:57:20Z 2014-03-05T08:57:20Z 2007 Book 978 1 84593 204 6 https://scholar.dlu.edu.vn/thuvienso/handle/DLU123456789/36433 en application/pdf CABI
