Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:The teaching and learning of speaking subject at high school have recently received more attention from teachers and learners; however, the choice and implementation of an effective method which can enhance students’ learning motivation and speaking performance at the level of standardized conformation has not yet been finalized. Thus, the present study aims to investigate the feasibility and educational value of the mind-mapping instruction into speaking performance. Based on the theoretical framework of mind-mapping, the quasi-experimental research was carried out during the second semester of academic year 2019-2020. Data were collected from three sources: (1) the pre-test and post-test to estimate the students’ speaking performance improvement after the treatment, (2) the questionnaire to assesses their attitude towards learning speaking lessons with mind-mapping, and (3) interview with six students in the experimental group to clarify their attitude. The outcomes of the study indicate that the experimental group attained the significant improvement in the post-test results thanks to the treatment of mind-mapping instruction. Additionally, the students expressed positive attitudes towards it and showed high appreciation for its effects in terms of raising their application, improving their speaking performance; especially, motivating them to develop and organize ideas for their speech better.
